Hundreds of tourists swarmed a protected sea turtle habitat at Ostional beach in Costa Rica, creating a shocking scene where a horde of excited boobies completely disrupted dozens of delicate turtles, preventing them from lying eggs, and then trampling many of their nests.
Ostional receives massive turtle arrival, known as arribadas, every month. While the visit' rate rises to Ostional on September and October to watch the turtles' arrival and nesting.

On last September many turtles returned to the ocean without lying a single egg because the hundreds of tourists stood in the way of the turtles.
Some tourist touched the turtles, parents placed their children on top of the turtles to take selfies and pictures, others stood on the top of the nests, the group reported.
The government should recognize that sea turtles are an endangered species and put controls in place accordingly.
